Due to bad weather, this was the first FA Cup Final to be played indoors, with the roof being deployed at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, and Arsenal lifted the trophy for the second successive year. This was his final game as an Arsenal player and, in the absence of the injured Patrick Vieira, he was captain for the day so got to raise the famous old trophy, a fitting finish to a stellar career.
